Legislative changes for the so-called adoption of Ukrainian children are being developed by Russian Nazis.
According to the Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova, the occupiers plan to grant Russian citizenship to children abducted in Ukraine under an accelerated procedure, as well as to simplify the registration procedure for orphans and children deprived of parental care.
The occupants’ bill is aimed at enabling Russian citizens to adopt Ukrainian children. At the moment, this country prohibits the placement of foreign children in families.
“The adoption of such a law will significantly complicate the ability of children to return to Ukraine and lead to a violation of their right to maintain contact with their relatives on the territory of Ukraine,” Denisova said.
Only according to the media of the occupying country, which require careful verification, almost 200 thousand Ukrainian children have been taken to the territory of the Russian Federation since the full-scale invasion (in fact, they were deported or abducted).
The conditions of the children’s stay, their state of health is still unknown.
“The forcible transfer of children from one national group to another is genocide in accordance with article 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide,” the Ombudsman said. “I appeal to the UN Commission to Investigate Human Rights Violations During Russia’s Military Invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of the crime of genocide and violation of the rights of children by Russia in Ukraine.”
