The European Union will ban Russians from buying real estate – Bloomberg

European Commission

The European Union is proposing to ban real estate transactions in the territory of the union with citizens, residents and legal entities of the Russian Federation as part of new sanctions against Russia.

This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to a document on the planned sanctions, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“The proposal of the European Commission provides for the termination of real estate transactions with Russian citizens, residents and legal entities, prohibiting the sale or transfer, directly or indirectly, of” real estate “, – the agency writes.

The proposed ban applies to Russians who are not EU citizens and do not have a residence permit in the union. The measure does not apply to those who have citizenship or a residence permit in the European Economic Area or Switzerland.

Bloomberg notes that the event itself will take effect if the proposal is approved by EU member states this week.

Earlier on Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that other sanctions proposed by the European Commission include disconnecting three Russian banks from the international payment system SWIFT, including Sberbank, banning three major Russian state television channels from broadcasting in the EU, and a ban on the provision of services to Russian companies by a number of European specialists. In addition, the EC proposes to introduce a phasing out of imports of Russian oil, which, according to von der Leyen, should take six months and be completed by the end of 2022. Джерело: https://biz.censor.net/n3338954
