Ukraine demands from the aggressor country to  open 2 humanitarian corridors from Mariupol: one from Azovstal, the other from the city itself. With such a request addressed to Vladimir Putin and the Pope.

According to the Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the pontiff three times appealed to the head of the Kremlin with a request to allow the evacuation of civilians from Azovstal to a ship under the papal flag, but was refused all three times.

It is reported that the Vatican is now pessimistic about further attempts to organize the evacuation of people from Azovstal, but insists on “continuing work in this field of diplomacy and multilateralism, otherwise the war will continue to devour the children of Ukraine.”
