The plane is good, but the deer is better: European countries refused to repair aircraft engines for Russian aircraft

Several European countries refused to provide maintenance and repair engines for aircraft and helicopters of the Russian Federation, which are used to deliver people and goods in the northern regions of the aggressor country.

This was stated by the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Sergey Kotkin.

“The engines for the An-2 aircraft are the only ones suitable for air transportation in the Arctic today, and spare parts for it are produced in Poland. For obvious reasons, their supply to Russia has been stopped, and previously purchased repair kits at the country’s aircraft repair plants are running out,” the deputy said.

Exactly the same situation with the Mi-8MTV helicopters.

“Based on the intensity of flights, their engines can be operated until the end of the first quarter of 2023. The Naryan-Mar Aviation Enterprise sent two engines for repair to the Czech Republic, the manufacturing country, but due to its unfriendly actions, it is not possible to get them back. Even today, the airline does not have the opportunity to equip a helicopter with an engine that is ready to go out of repair, ”complained Sergey Kotkin.

Interestingly, similar problems will soon arise in all Arctic regions of the Russian Federation. Small aviation, consisting of the “oldies” An-2 and Mi-8 helicopters, is the main transport in these vast expanses.
