Ukraine will not be given guarantees similar to Article 5 of NATO – Johnson

According to this article, an attack on one country of the alliance is considered an attack on all its members.

Western allies are preparing to offer Ukraine a series of security guarantees that will make the country “impregnable” from another Russian attack.

This was stated by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, writes  Yahoo News .

According to Johnson, it is necessary to develop a long-term vision of Ukraine’s place in the future “security architecture” of Europe.

He noted that security guarantees for Ukraine will not be identical to the fifth article of NATO (an attack on one country of the alliance is considered an attack on all its members – ed.).

  1. Truth is, Putin, Erdogan and Xi are not strong, the West is weak. The enemy has hardcore thugs, we only have flower power pussies afraid of their own farts. Our leaders remind me of the idiots i was pushing in school when i was a 5th grader. Spineless suckers. So sad.

  3. I read the original article. It’s very confusing. I don’t know if Boris intended it that way or not. He starts off strongly by stating that the allies are “preparing to offer Ukraine a series of “security guarantees” which should make the country “impregnable” to a future Russian invasion….”

But then it all goes off the rails with a load of flannel : “While he said it will not be the same as the Nato Article 5 guarantee – in which an attack on one member state is considered to an attack on all – he hoped it would offer “deterrence by denial”.

    WTF does that even mean?

Then he goes on to say that he accepted a Western intelligence assessment that the conflict could continue for most of the rest of the year, potentially ending with a victory for President Vladimir Putin.

That is even more mad, because he is on record multiple times saying “Putin must fail.” I appreciate he’s under a lot of strain with “partygate” etc, but this is getting ridiculous. He’s hardly put a foot wrong up to now. Maybe he’s jetlagged?
