Romania is changing the law to transfer lethal weapons to Ukraine

Romania is ready to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons from the reserves of national defense – the army and special services.

According to the publication Romania libera , this became possible thanks to amendments to the Romanian legislation.

“A special decree was developed by the Ministry of Defense of the country. The regulation will amend the government’s decree on the “accumulation, removal and renewal of reserves intended for national defense ,” the article says.

After the adoption of this amendment, Romania will be able to supply products from military reserves not only to NATO members, but also to potential allies.

The publication emphasizes that the reason for the amendments to the legislation was Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine.
