Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, the enemy has lost about 20% of its weapons.
This was stated in an interview with UNIAN by the director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, military expert Sergei Zgurets.
“If we count from the equipment that was accumulated before the aggression on the borders of Ukraine, today we have destroyed at least 20% of the total number, let’s say, of arsenals,” the expert said.
Zgurets stressed that the invasion of the territory of Ukraine turned out to be extremely painful for Russia itself, and it had not yet known such losses in equipment.
“We destroyed more (equipment – ed.) in a month than Russia lost in several wars. That is, in a month we shot down more aircraft and other equipment than Russia lost in two Chechen wars and in the war in Syria. Even more aircraft than the USSR lost in Afghanistan,” the expert noted.
Zgurets also recalled that the presence of weapons does not guarantee their effective use.
“Not only the number of weapons determines the potential of the army, but also the tactics of use and the ability of personnel to effectively use one or another model. If you have a lot of weapons, but no fuel, then you really have systemic problems with its use,” the expert said.
