In Russia, the “Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant” for the production of anti-aircraft missile systems has actually stopped due to a lack of foreign components that are not being put into production due to Western sanctions .

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the social network Facebook.

The “production capacities” of the Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant “(JSC” UMZ”, Ulyanovsk) are actually stopped. “UMZ” is a manufacturer of radar systems and short-range and medium-range air defense equipment for the ground forces of the RF Armed Forces (ZRK “Buk”, ZRK “Kub”, ZPRK “Tunguska”)”, – stated in the message.

In particular, the reasons for the critical state of production are the use of a large number of foreign components and electronic components in the manufacture of military products.

“Until recently, Germany was the main supplier of the Russian military-industrial complex. But with the beginning of the invasion of the territory of Ukraine, any cooperation was terminated,” the statement said.

At the same time, according to employees, the plant is not able to continue production on its own, since “practically nothing Russian” is used in the technological process.

“Now the plant’s management is looking for ways to circumvent sanctions and arrange supplies through third countries (in particular, Kazakhstan). But such schemes lead to a significant increase in the cost of components due to the need to pay for services to intermediary countries. But this is not provided for by the budget and there is no way to increase it “, the message says.

It is noted that workers are given a choice: go on unpaid leave or sign a contract with the armed forces to participate in the war in Ukraine.

“The recommended position is “operator-gunner” of the Buk air defense missile system. The proposed salary is 50,000 rubles a month,” the statement said.
