Turkish drone with Ukrainian AKINCI B engine breaks altitude record

The drone flew at an altitude of 35 thousand feet, which is almost 10.7 km.

The AKINCI B combat unmanned aerial vehicle has shown its new altitude record by making a test flight at an altitude of 10.7 km.

This was announced by the director of the company Baykar Makina Selcuk Bayraktar on  Twitter .

The AKINCI B UAV passed an endurance test flight.

Bayraktar notes that the drone flew at an altitude of 35 thousand feet, which is almost 10.7 km.

At the end of March, the Turkish company Baykar Makina presented a new UAV with a Ukrainian engine .

MUIS will be jet-powered and is expected to be able to take off and land on Turkey’s flagship amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu (under construction),” the statement said.

As Khalyuk Bayraktar said earlier, on the AKINCI UAV, Ukrainian-made engines of different power are installed on different versions of this combat drone. In particular, we are talking about engines manufactured by SE Ivchenko-Progress and JSC Motor Sich.

It is worth noting that this drone will be the company’s first jet-powered drone. The platform will fly at supersonic speeds at high altitude. The first flight was previously scheduled for 2023.
