Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, in which he stressed the importance of maintaining sanity in the position of the parties and continuing the dialogue.

During the conversation, the presidents of the two countries discussed the results of recent talks between the delegations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation in Istanbul, hurriyet reports . Erdogan told Putin that a positive and constructive meeting between the Russian-Ukrainian delegations “inspires hope for peace.”

Erdogan said that his country intends to crown its peace efforts with the rapprochement between the presidents of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, and Russia, Vladimir Putin.
