The Svyatoshinsky District Court of Kyiv arrested twelve An-124-100 Ruslan transport aircraft of the Russian airline Volga-Dnepr.

This was reported by the press service of the Ilyashev & Partners law firm, which represents the interests of Antonov State Enterprise. The arrest was imposed in order to ensure the safety of physical evidence and further compensation for harm. The total cost of the aircraft is more than 24 billion hryvnia.

“Rosaviatsia illegally granted the right to a company belonging to the Volga-Dnepr group of companies to issue airworthiness certificates for Ruslans. In fact, over the past years, Volga-Dnepr has been issuing certificates to itself, endangering the safe operation of aircraft, which is a flagrant violation of the provisions of international conventions.

Now three planes are banned from flying out of Germany, one from Canada, work continues on arrests in other jurisdictions.

According to the court order, the aircraft are to be transferred to the National Agency for the Detection, Search and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).

Earlier it was reported that the world’s largest leasing company AerCap filed a $3.5 billion lawsuit against the Russian Federation for aircraft that Russia stole due to sanctions after the invasion of Ukraine.
