Ukraine will be able to independently purchase weapons from  German defense enterprises . The purchase of armaments and equipment in the amount of 300 million euros has already been preliminarily agreed upon, which can be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible.

This is reported by the German edition  Süddeutschen Zeitung .

The decision on the supply of weapons to Ukraine will be made by a special committee under the German Defense Ministry. This is not about weapons and equipment from the warehouses of the Bundeswehr, but about goods that defense enterprises can supply immediately or without special prior notice.

Ukraine will be able to purchase weapons and equipment from German defense enterprises that it previously ordered. In total, the list contains about 200 items, namely 2,650 anti-tank grenade launchers and mortars, armored vehicles and buses, 18 reconnaissance drones (they can be delivered to Ukraine immediately), 3,000 night vision devices, thousands of body armor and helmets. 

As UNIAN reported earlier, over the weekend, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky again called on Western countries to support Ukraine with arms supplies. Prior to this, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly accused Germany of being indecisive and then not providing a sufficient amount of military equipment.

Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Germany refused to supply weapons, instead providing only 5,000 protective helmets. However, with the outbreak of full-scale war, the federal government changed its position.
