The US President also rejected the suggestion that his remarks could lead to an escalation of the war in Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden  has said he is not retracting his remarks that President Vladimir Putin cannot remain in power.

“I’m not downplaying anything,” President Biden said Monday at the White House, emphasizing that he’s not voicing a policy change, but expressing an opinion based on his emotions.

“I expressed moral indignation at the behavior of Putin and the actions of this man,” Biden said. The US President also noted that he was not going to apologize for his words.

Biden continued: “I was expressing exactly what I said – I was expressing the moral outrage that I felt towards this man. I was not talking about changing policy. And I think you know if he continues this course, he will become an outcast.” all over the world and who knows what it could be like at home in terms of support.”

The US President also rejected the suggestion that his remarks could lead to an escalation of the war in Ukraine.

“I don’t care what he thinks. He’s going to do what he’s going to do,” Biden said in response to a reporter’s question if he feared Putin would take the remark as an escalation.

“Given his recent behavior, people should understand that he is going to do what he thinks he should do, period. He is not influenced by anyone else, including, unfortunately, his own advisers. This guy lives in his own reality, and what he is doing is simply irrational.”

Recall that earlier Biden countered that he called for regime change in Russia, commenting on his  statement that Putin should not be left in power, which he made on Saturday after finishing his speech in front of the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland. Journalists and society perceived it as a call for regime change in the Russian Federation.

  1. Biden is the man! Sadly the rest of the country does not give a shit about Ukraine. Most people are indifferent to Ukraine’s suffering, but i’m convinced Joe is not!

  2. Top marks Joe for speaking the truth “Given his recent behavior, people should understand that he is going to do what he thinks he should do, period. He is not influenced by anyone else, including, unfortunately, his own advisers. This guy lives in his own reality, and what he is doing is simply irrational.”

  3. “Biden said that he does not abandon his remark about the Putin regime in Russia”

Good! This is what a man does; stand by his belief, his word, his conviction. Biden spoke the truth, and the truth may always be said, even if it hurts the marshmallows. Maybe … just maybe … Biden is waking up and will find his courage, like Zelensky did.
