Russian terrorists blew up part of the ammunition near power unit No. 1 of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant they captured .

This was reported by the press service of Energoatom.

The explosion occurred at the site of a nuclear power plant, the company said. At the time of the explosion, the station staff left their jobs.

“Rashist fools blew up part of the ammunition at the site of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant near the ruins of the training center and power unit No. 1. And they plan to continue to carry out explosions at the largest nuclear facility in Europe. During the explosions, the personnel left their jobs,” the report says.

Whether the radiation background on the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP has changed after the explosions is still unknown.

Capture of ZNPP by Russian invaders: what is known

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 4, the Russian military seized the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

On March 10, Energoatom reported that Ukrainian personnel were working at all six ZNPP power units, but the plant management had to coordinate all technical issues with the occupiers. The station employees are under strong psychological pressure from the invaders.

Two power units of the Zaporizhzhya NPP operate in the network. On March 7, power unit N6 was put out for emergency repairs, as it was damaged during shelling by the occupiers.

On March 10, Russian invaders mined the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir, bordering on the captured nuclear power plant.

On March 11, employees of the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom arrived at the Zaporozhye NPP  . They stated that this was allegedly the territory of Russia, and the Zaporizhzhya NPP was already included in the control system of the Rosatom corporation.

  1. I wish that some elite troops would retake the NPP. It is obviously too dangerous to be in mafia hands.

    • Yeah, Chernobyl too, but with no word from the IAEA, the UN or PACE they will just continue terrorizing. Everyone is hiding under their desks except the citizens of Ukraine. If I were SG at the UN I would propose Ukraine take Russia’s seat at the UNSC, that might produce some changes.
