The mayor of Slavutych, Yuriy Fomichev, said that there is a danger of radioactive dust being released at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant .

He stated this during the telethon.

He recalled that the first day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was captured.

“And the change that was, remains there today. We cannot replace people and they have been working for 10 days already. They were divided into two groups. But they were tired mentally, physically, emotionally, and this is a danger of a nuclear facility, because the personnel must work stably” – said Fomichev.

At the same time, he noted that there is limited communication with the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant – “we communicate with them, but at the moment there is no guaranteed green corridor to replace the station shift.”

He noted that because of Chernobyl, a real corridor appeared through which military equipment moves.

“All the equipment that passes the Chernobyl zone on wheels takes out radioactive dust to the entire territory of Ukraine in the direction of Kyiv,” the mayor of Slavutych added.

In addition, the mayor noted that there is an intensive movement of equipment through the facility and if “God forbid military operations begin there”, then this could affect the 4th power unit, where there was an accident, where there are unstable structures and this “may lead to the release of radioactive dust. There’s a lot of danger there.”

Speaking about the workers of the station, Fomichev noted: “People are fed limited, they have a limited amount of medicines and it is very difficult for them. This is real terrorism, there is no other way to call it. “.

He noted that the occupiers do not put forward any demands to the station workers themselves, except that they remain in their places and work, but they do not let anyone out of the perimeter.

Recall, the Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety  reports that the Russian invaders of the Chernobyl power plant are experiencing severe radiation exposure.

Objects with radioactive waste have very good protection against threats, it is extremely difficult to break through it. Even in the event of a severe accident, the consequences will not spread beyond the exclusion zone. At the same time, the invaders of the station themselves are already suffering from exposure.

  1. Putin does not care about the troops exposure to radiological risks. The Russian regime has never cared about the troops.
