The European Parliament supported the resolution on granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country for EU accession

The document also condemns Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The European Parliament supported the resolution on granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, the results of voting for the relevant resolution were announced by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

In particular, 637 MEPs voted in favor, 13 MEPs voted against and 26 abstained.

Now this resolution is submitted to the institutions of the European Union authorized to make the relevant decisions and to all member countries of the community.

The document also condemns Russian aggression against Ukraine.
