Mastercard will continue to work with regulators in the coming days in order to fully meet its obligations.

The American financial corporation Mastercard has blocked access to its payment system for many Russian financial institutions.

The company took such a step because of the sanctions against the Russian Federation, imposed due to the invasion of the aggressor country into Ukraine. This is stated in a statement by the head of Mastercard Michael Mibach.

“As a result of the imposition of sanctions, we have blocked access to the Mastercard payment system for many financial institutions,” the head of the corporation said.

According to him, Mastercard will continue to work with regulators in the coming days in order to fully fulfill its obligations.

Earlier, the United States blocked any financial transactions for Americans involving the Bank of Russia.
