The UK has banned all Russian ships from entering its ports.

This was announced on Twitter by the Minister of Transport of Great Britain Grant Shepps.

This decision is connected with Russia’s attack on Ukraine, a sovereign democratic state.

“The maritime sector is fundamental to international trade, and we must play our part in limiting Russia’s economic interests. In such circumstances, the Department for Transport considers it inappropriate for Russian ships to continue to call at UK ports,” the document says.READ ALSO:

From now on, access to UK ports is not granted to any ships owned, controlled or chartered by any person associated with the Russian Federation; fly under the Russian flag; registered in the Russian Federation.

“We will try to support UK ports in identifying Russian ships under this program and will contact the relevant ports directly when we identify ships that fall under the aforementioned,” the British Ministry of Transport informed.
