The Norwegian government will send weapons to Ukraine to protect against Russian aggression. We are talking about 2 thousand units of anti-tank weapons M72.
This is stated in a statement by the Norwegian government on Monday, reports Reuters .
This decision reverses Norway’s policy, which has been in place since the 1950s, of not supplying weapons to non-NATO countries that are at war or at risk of armed conflict.
“Norway has a strict military equipment export policy, but Ukraine is now facing extraordinary circumstances,” said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere.
Reuters recalls that on Sunday, Norway announced the withdrawal of its sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest from Russia, and promised to send helmets, body armor and other equipment to Ukraine.
