Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Affairs and Development of Great Britain Elizabeth Truss announced the preparation of new financial sanctions against the Russian Federation .

This Truss said during a speech in the House of Commons.

“We want a situation where they (the Russians – Ed.) cannot access their funds, their trade cannot take place, their ships cannot dock and their planes cannot land on runways. Today I can confirm to the Chamber communities that I will introduce two new elements to the sanctions legislation,” Truss stressed.

In particular, the first element will introduce new powers against the Russian financial sector.

“This provides for the powers to prevent Russian banks from making non-cash payments in pounds sterling,” Truss stressed.

With more than 50% of Russian trade in dollars or pounds, she said, co-ordinated British action with the US would harm Russia’s ability to trade with the world, she said.

“And as soon as this legislation comes into force, we will apply it to the largest Russian bank, Sberbank,” Truss stressed.READ ALSO:

She also said that the assets of three banks would be completely frozen: VEB, SovKomBank and Otkritie Bank.

According to her, the assets of all Russian banks will be frozen, but coordination with partners is still needed.

The second element of the legislation would ban exports to Russia for a number of critical sectors for Russia.

“This includes such high-tech equipment as microelectronics, marine and navigation equipment. This will slow down the development of the military-industrial potential and will act like a drug for the Russian economy in the coming years,” Truss stressed.

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an invasion of Ukraine , explosions thundered in a number of cities.

Soon Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the Ukrainians and announced the imposition of martial law .

Earlier, journalist Andrei Tsaplienko reported that Russian troops crossed the border of Ukraine in the Kharkov region .

At the same time, journalist Yuri Butusov shared that the Russian side attacked our state, and  military facilities were attacked throughout the country, first of all, control systems , air bases of the air defense unit. According to him, the Ukrainian army resisted.

Prior to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin  signed decrees on the independence of the so-called “LNR” and “DNR” . The Russian Federation also decided to introduce its “peacekeepers” into the pseudo-republics. Such decisions of the Russian side became known on February 21.

Late in the evening of February 23, information appeared that the leaders of the “DPR” and “LPR” Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik  asked Russia to provide military assistance to the “republics” .

  1. Keep them coming!
Next, the most important sanction of all; confiscate ALL mafia land assets, this includes oligarch assets. Ukraine will need them when Mordor soldiers have been driven out of our sacred land.
