Russian invasion update: Russia amassing occupation troops in Belarus – General Staff


The situation regarding the Russian invasion:


The Russian occupiers redeployed 10 helicopters, two An-124 planes and four Su-34 fighter-bombers to Belarus.


The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published the latest information about the Russian invasion as of 13:00 on Facebook.


It is stated that the enemy continues the air offensive, during which it fires on military and civilian infrastructure facilities. In particular, since the beginning of the day, the Russian occupiers have carried out 5 air and 16 missile strikes.


“Republic of Belarus becomes another center of build-up of the occupying forces: 10 helicopters from Ostrov, Pskov region, as well as 2 An-124 aircraft of the Aerospace Forces were redeployed to Machulyshchy airfield. Four Su-34 fighter-bombers were redeployed to Baranovychy airfield,” the General Staff said.


It is noted that, having regrouped troops, the enemy conducts offensive operations in the direction of Kyiv, but the capital’s defense forces are successfully defending the city.


The enemy continues to shell the peaceful Ukrainian cities of Kharkiv and Balakleya, and the fierce defense of Kherson continues.


Groups of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces were withdrawn from naval bases with the task to strike the surface forces of the Ukrainian Navy.


The enemy attempted to land paratroopers in the Black Sea region. They were killed.


Units of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces are also involved in hostilities.


The war in Ukraine has been ongoing for four days. On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Martial law was imposed. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization.
