The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov handed over to the international payment systems Visa and Mastercard a letter from President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the blocking of services in Russia.

Fedorov announced this in his Telegram channel .

“I turned to Visa and Mastercard with a letter from the president about blocking services in the Russian Federation,” he wrote.

Maintenance of services in Ukraine:

The National Bank of Ukraine appealed to the international payment systems Visa and Mastercard with a request to stop servicing payment cards issued by banks – residents of the Russian Federation.

It is indicated that such an appeal is due to the need to take measures related to the introduction of the legal regime of martial law on the territory of Ukraine in pursuance of the decree of the President of Ukraine “On the introduction of martial law in Ukraine”.

In addition, the leaders of the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Britain, Canada and the EU will disconnect a certain number of banks in the Russian Federation from the SWIFT international banking payment system in the coming days.
