The last EU country agreed to disconnect the Russian Federation from SWIFT

The ECB says that disconnecting Russia from SWIFT is a matter of a matter of days.

Germany agreed to disconnect Russia from the international payment system SWIFT in response to a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This was reported by Radio Liberty correspondent Rikard Jozwiak.

He tweeted that “Germany has agreed to move forward with SWIFT”.

At the same time, as the European Central Bank told Reuters , disconnecting the aggressor from SWIFT is already “a matter of a short time, days.” They confirmed that it would be a painful decision for both sides.”

Earlier, disconnecting Russia from SWIFT was considered among the options for sanctions against Russia in the event of its new attack on Ukraine. However, the EU did not come to a final opinion on this matter because of the great economic risks for the West.

After the Russian invasion, discussions about SWIFT in Europe resumed.

  1. Good!

If Kyiv were to fall, that would not be the end. If Zelensky has gotten smart he has given orders to ignore anything he says if he is captured. I hope there are people outside of Kyiv with orders to carry on with the war and government.

  2. Allright, i don’t know if you heard about this or else this will be a bomb here.
My country, guess you know where i am from by now, are giving aid to Russia, and my government won’t stop the payments… Until 2024 an amount of 400 000 000 swedish crowns will be transfered to Russia.
Might be you have a new headline here.

    So sorry for this.
