IMF assures Ukraine of full support

The International Monetary Fund assures Ukraine of its support and continues to work closely with the government to assist the country in all possible ways.

That’s according to the official Facebook page of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance, Ukrinform reports.

“The Ministry of Finance continues to communicate with the IMF on instruments to support Ukraine. All discussions are being conducted remotely with the participation of staff from Washington. In particular, the parties are exploring options for further financial support, including under the current $2.2 billion Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF,” the statement reads.

In addition, the Government of Ukraine has requested additional emergency financing from the IMF, the ministry said.

The IMF assured Ukraine of its support, and the Fund’s staff will continue to work closely with the Government of Ukraine to assist the country in all possible ways. “The International Monetary Fund is also working with the World Bank Group and other partners to strengthen support for Ukraine,” the Finance Ministry said.

As reported, the IMF mission started its online work in Ukraine on February 23.
