The former US ambassador to Russia called it great news.

The North Atlantic Alliance has put the rapid reaction forces on alert.

This was announced by former US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul on  Twitter .

“Now it is known that the NATO High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) has been activated. Great news,” he wrote.

The High Readiness Joint Task Force is a dedicated NATO forward brigade within the NATO Rapid Response Force for rapid deployment.
