EU and its partners will react with unity, firmness and determination in solidarity

European Union leaders have already discussed Russia‘s decision to recognize the independence of the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” and the “Luhansk People’s Republic”.

The EU called this step a blatant violation of international law. This is stated in the Twitter accounts of the Presidents of the European Council Charles Michel and the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

“The recognition of the two separatist territories in Ukraine is a blatant violation of international law, the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the Minsk agreements,” Charles Michel wrote.

According to him, EU and its partners will react with unity, firmness and determination in solidarity.

A similar post was written by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

Earlier, Russia officially recognized the independence of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk “people’s republics”. Russian President Vladimir Putin made the corresponding statement in a televised address.

Putin and the leaders of “Donetsk People’s Republic” and the “Luhansk People’s Republic” signed the relevant documents.

The Russian president also signed cooperation agreements with those republics.

That will make a change, will you be concerned, deeply concerned or extremely concerned. At least now you can drop the “both sides need to…” BS

  2. At this point, I doubt sanctions will be enough. There must be a concerted, military alliance to block against russian meddling!
