During 2021, in the Donbas, most of the losses of the Russian occupation forces in manpower and equipment were non-combat. More than 750 militants were killed or wounded during the year.

This was announced by the intelligence officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Neschadim on Twitter .

In December alone, in some areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the invaders lost 44 people. All these losses are non-combat. We are talking about 19 dead and 25 wounded, as well as one unit of military equipment.

From January 1 to December 31, 2021, the militants lost 754 people :

• irrecoverable (200) – 318, of which 10 are combat and 308 are non-combat;
• sanitary (300) – 436, of which 8 are combat;
• weapons and military equipment – 14 units.

Non-combat casualties include deaths from explosives, suicides, gunfire, and other incidents that were fatal or injured outside of hostilities.

Now the Ukrainian military maintains a “silence” regime in Donbass, but they return fire in the event of enemy attacks.

Earlier, the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, Oleksiy Arestovich, said that  Russia would open entry-exit checkpoints in Donbass if Ukraine recognizes the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.
