Militants fired on Ukrainian positions on the last day of the year: a soldier died

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, militants in Donbass fired at the positions of the Ukrainian military three times. The shelling continues today. A soldier was killed.

This was reported at the headquarters of the JFO.

Near Maysky, the enemy opened fire from automatic easel grenade launchers.

In the Avdiivka area, Russian mercenaries fired at our positions with small arms.

Also, in the direction of Vodyanoye in the Donetsk region, the invaders opened fire from automatic and anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms.

As a result of these attacks, one Ukrainian soldier was injured incompatible with life.

“The command and personnel of the Joint Forces express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the hero who died for Ukraine,” the message says.

As of the morning of January 1, the invaders made three more attacks.

In the Shyrokyne area, militants fired at our soldiers from automatic and anti-tank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.

Near Novolugansk, Russian mercenaries fired grenade launchers and small arms.

And in the direction of Vodyanoye in the Donetsk region, they opened fire from anti-tank grenade launchers.

Losses among the JFO servicemen have not been recorded this morning.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on the eve of the New Year and Christmas, Ukrainian defenders turned to the Ukrainians.

  1. The West, in the meantime, has its head stuck deeply in the dirt, like the proverbial ostrich. Every cease fire violation should be answered with yet more sanctions and arms shipments. But, with only hot air or crickets as a response, the mafia thugs will continue killing whenever they can, regardless of the time of year it is.

    • That would be exactly what Putin is waiting for. An excuse for further escalation and invasion. The army should stay calm and invest more in armor, radar and protection of their soldiers, at least for as long as 180.000 ruSSian soldiers are sitting at Ukraine’s borders.
