In November 2021, 87,527 people died in Russia, who were diagnosed with COVID-19. This was reported by Rosstat .
In 80,126 deaths, the disease was precisely or presumably the main cause of death. In 1,477 patients, it caused complications that hastened death. In 5924 people, covid was a concomitant disease, but did not affect the onset of death in any way.
Thus, in November in Russia, the monthly death record from coronavirus was once again broken. The official number of deaths from covid as the main cause and the overall death rate among cases of covid are the highest in a month since the beginning of the pandemic.
The previous record was set in October 2021.
Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the death rate in Russia in November 2021 increased by 17% compared to November 2020. The entire increase in deaths is attributable to the coronavirus.
At the same time, Golikova noted that for 29 days of December 2021 compared to 29 days of November, mortality in Russia decreased by 19.6%, “while mortality from COVID-19 prevails in the structure of mortality.”
