In the coming years, the government plans to build infrastructure to create at least 25 industrial parks capable of providing more than 50,000 additional jobs and another 150,000-200,000 in related industries.
“A network of at least 25 industrial parks will create more than 50,000 jobs. This is not taking into account the employment of people in related fields. This is an multiplier in economics. After all, one job in an industrial park creates 3-4 jobs in related sectors – construction, logistics, consulting. It is also important that industrial parks focus on the production of high value-added goods. As a result, such sites will be able to reveal the economic, scientific and investment potential of communities in the near future and become a kind of “vaccine” against labor migration, “said Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov.
As reported, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in October signed a law amending the Law №4416-1 “On Industrial Parks”. The document introduces financial, infrastructural and institutional incentives for investors in industrial parks.
Bills №№ 5688 and 5689, which will introduce fiscal incentives, are expected to be considered in the first reading. These include exemption from income tax for residents of industrial parks for 10 years for its reinvestment in development, exemption from customs duties and VAT on the import of new equipment for their own use, the establishment of real estate tax benefits at the discretion of the community.
