Belarus due to EU sanctions may lose its statehood .

This was stated by the representative of the regime of Alexander Lukashenko – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic Vladimir Makei in an interview to the TV channel “Belarus 1”, published on the website department.

The official claims that allegedly not everyone in the EU agrees with the approval of sanctions against Belarus. According to him, “sensible colleagues” are against them.

“Because in the end, no one will win. Belarus risks losing its statehood if the sanctions pressure continues. Although we will do everything to prevent this from happening, and the European Union will forever lose Belarus. And I think that this is absolutely not in the interests of Europe “, – said Makei.

Sanctions against Belarus

• Recently, the US Treasury approved another package of sanctions against Belarus, in particular, against Lukashenko’s son, Dmitry Lukashenko, and a number of Belarusian companies.
• Following Washington, the EU also introduced a package of sanctions. 17 citizens of Belarus and 11 companies (including the Belavia airline, Belarusneft, GrodnoAzot and the travel agency Tsentrkurort) fell under the European sanctions.
• The UK also introduced new sanctions against Belarus. They hit, in particular, the propagandist Grigory Azarenok and the special correspondent of “SB. Belarus Today” Lyudmila Gladkaya, who on camera “interrogated” the protesters detained by the security forces.
• Sanctions against Belarus are being introduced after large-scale repressions against the opposition and citizens of the country who disagree with the results of the 2020 presidential elections. The reason for the new restrictions against the republic was the migration crisis on its border with the EU countries, unleashed by the Lukashenka regime.
