Pope Francis may soon visit Ukraine - UGCC head

02.12.2021 11:10Pope Francis may pay a visit to Ukraine in the near future.

This was announced by the leader of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, who spoke at the Kyiv Security Forum on December 1, the KSF press service told Ukrinform.

“A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to personally talk with Pope Francis about Ukraine. He is very concerned about the fate of ordinary people, the people who may not be fully heard today,” the top cleric sai

“His Holiness was very interested in how the Ukrainian people live, and he is really deeply concerned about this,” added His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

The UGCC chief said the Pope may soon pay a visit to the country.

“We have some good news. We expect him to visit Ukraine. This hasn’t been announced yet, but we are already in anticipation and preparation,” said the head of the UGCC.

His Beatitude also said he had told the Pope about the common feelings among representatives of various Ukrainian churches and religions that the war would end after the Pope visited Ukraine.

An 84 year old Marxist who believes that Argentina should invade the Falklands, even though they have been British since before Argentina existed and unlike Argentina, which committed genocide on the indigenous peoples, were uninhabited. I wouldn’t be too optimistic about this twat. The last decent pope was that Polish one back in the day (Paul?) who helped Poland extirpate communism.
