In Transcarpathia, in the village of Nyzhniy Bystry, road workers are completing the construction of a 470-meter retaining wall on the R-21 highway. The artificial structure is set up in a place where the road is laid along the river Rika.
The function of the retaining wall is to strengthen the banks of the river, protect the road from water, restrain landslides and prevent the destruction of the roadway.
The length of the wall is 470 m, the height varies from 3 to 5 m.
Road workers report the following results:
- laid a meter foundation;
- the “skeleton” – a reinforcing grid is arranged;
- the construction of the wall itself continues;
After the installation of the supporting structure, the road workers will dismantle the technical road and start repairing the missed section of the R-21 Dolyna-Khust highway.
R-21 Dolyna – Khust connects Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions. In Transcarpathia, it is 83 km of a picturesque road through the Torun Pass, the villages of Soimy and Mizhhirya to the town of Khust.
It is ambitious to repair 265 km of state roads in Transcarpathia by the end of 2021. Of these – 60.6 km of the R-21 highway.
We will remind, in May we wrote that in the Rakhiv area build the highest retaining wall in Ukraine.
