Poland, Lithuania and Latvia may ask for consultations under the alliance’s treaty
NATO must take “concrete steps” to resolve the migrant crisis on the Belarus border. This was stated by Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Voice of America reports.
According to him, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia may ask for consultations under the alliance’s treaty.
“It is not enough just for us to publicly express our concern – now we need concrete steps and the commitment of the entire alliance,” Mateusz Morawiecki said.
Under Article 4 of the NATO treaty, any ally can request consultations whenever, in the opinion of any of them, their territorial integrity, political independence or security is threatened.
Meanwhile, EU foreign ministers will widen sanctions on Belarus on November 15 to include airlines and travel agencies thought to involved in bringing migrants to the bloc’s border, the European Union’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said.
The EU has accused Belarus of encouraging migrants to come to its territory and pushing thousands of them to cross into Poland and other neighbouring EU states in retaliation for sanctions already imposed on Minsk.
Two diplomats said on Thursday the EU is considering imposing sanctions on Belarus’ main airport in a bid to make it more difficult for airlines to bring in migrants.

Fuck article 4, it’s just another excuse to expel hot air, invoke article 5. Article 5 of NATO’s founding treaty states that an attack on any one of the 30 allies will be considered an attack on them all. Is this not an attack on NATO countries, orchestrated by Russia?
I suppose consultations are first before you start putting lead in their heads.

Just reading about this terrorist incident in Liverpool. The taxi driver, an English guy locked the terrorist in his taxi. His name has been released, but the name and nationality of the terrorist has not been released. I have no doubt he will be one of our Muslim friends.
