Two Russian paratroopers killed during exercises in Belarus
Two Russian paratroopers were killed on November 12 during an exercise in Belarus. The project of the former Belarusian security officials BYPOL was the first to announce this . The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed that two soldiers were killed while landing in the Grodno region.
According to a report from the scene, as a result of a sudden strong gust of wind near the ground, parachutists of two contract servicemen, who had high qualifications of parachute training instructors, descended. The domes of both parachutists went out.
One of them tried to stop the uncontrolled fall of both military men and used a reserve parachute, but due to insufficient height, the latter “did not have time to start work and there was a hard landing.” The victims were taken to a local hospital. “Despite the efforts of the doctors, both Russian servicemen died from their injuries,” the Defense Ministry’s information department said.
The names of the victims were not reported. BYPOL reported that “an officer and conscripts” were killed during the landing at the Gozhsky training ground.
