The border with Belarus will be additionally protected by 8.5 thousand servicemen of the State Border Guard Service, NSU and policemen.
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs.
As noted, during a working visit to the Volyn region, Monastyrsky checked the state of protection of the state border with the Republic of Belarus and the location of additional forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where the units of the State Border Service, the National Guard and the National Police are located. They were deployed and deployed in accordance with the decision of the NSDC to strengthen border protection in the areas of potential movement of illegal migrants from neighboring Belarus.
“We are strengthening the border units with the forces of the National Police and the National Guard. In addition, about 8,500 military personnel and police will be involved. This powerful group will consist of 3,000 servicemen of the State Border Guard Service; 3,500 – NSU and 2,000 – National Police. Aviation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including 15 helicopters, which will provide mobility and, if necessary, will transfer our forces to the border, “Monastyrsky said.
According to him, such actions will help contain illegal migrants, but there is only one way out for a comprehensive solution to the problem – the construction of a reliable modern intellectual border.
“The Ukrainian border is not equipped, therefore, as soon as possible, Ukraine must build an” intellectual border “with Russia and Belarus. To finance this project, 17 billion hryvnias will be required. These funds will be allocated from the budget,” Monastyrsky said.
The head of the State Border Service Sergei Deineko said that today there is no threat to Ukraine from the border with Belarus.
“The situation is stable and controlled, there are no threats for Ukraine yet. However, our service, together with the National Police and the National Guard, is working out all possible scenarios in order to protect the Ukrainian border from a possible breakthrough attempt, artificially organized by crowds of migrants,” Deineko said.
We will remind, Denis Monastyrsky flew today, November 11, to the Volyn region to check the readiness of protecting the Ukrainian border from an artificially created migration crisis.
