The state research and production association “Fort” prepares at the enterprise lines for production in Ukraine of submachine guns “Fort-230”.

This was stated by the chief designer of KNVO “Fort” Mykola Hlyvy.

Now “Fort-230” completes factory tests, then the weapon must be completed and eliminate all existing shortcomings.

In 2022, KNVO “Fort” is to make the first batch of prototypes of submachine guns.

“We are now testing it and in parallel preparing all the lines for its production,” – says the chief designer of KNVO “Fort” Mykola Hlyvy.

Also next year, the company plans to begin state tests of the Ukrainian submachine gun.

“Fort-230” is an automatic weapon caliber 9×19 mm Luger. The weapon is equipped with a telescopic buttstock, which is fixed in three positions.

The example is approaching the receiver. The store is located in the handle of a submachine gun. The submachine gun has two-way controls: a magazine latch, a fuse, a shutter delay and a fire switch.

The submachine gun is equipped with a folding front handle, which is fixed in four positions, a picatinny bar with an adjustable sighting device.

Technical characteristics of the weapon:

• principle of action – return of a free shutter;
• fire mode – single / automatic;
• length with folded / unfolded butt, mm – 400/600;
• trunk length, mm – 160;
• height x width, mm – 213/273 x 60;
• weight with an empty magazine, kg – no more than 2.5;
• aiming range, m – 200;
• rate of fire, shot / min – 800;
• capacity of the store, ammunition – 20/30;
• the number of notches in the barrel – 6;
• descent effort, kgf – 2-3.5.

“During its creation, the experience of the latest models of this type of weapon was taken into account, thanks to which extremely reliable operation of the product automation was achieved even in conditions of very heavy pollution (thick swamp, snow, sand, water),” says the manufacturer.

Pre-production prototypes of the submachine gun “Fort-230” were presented at the exhibition “Weapons and Security” in 2021.
