A new Marine Rescue Center has been opened in Berdyansk

Marine rescue center in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region.

A new Marine Rescue Center was opened in Berdyansk, Zaporizhia Oblast.

The center will coordinate search and rescue operations on the high seas with the involvement of specialized search and rescue units of the center, rescue equipment of other agencies and vessels in the Sea of ​​Azov.

The rescue center is equipped with an AIS-based surface monitoring system.

The specialists of the center provide round-the-clock duty, reception and processing of distress signals, as well as directly interact with the coastal radio centers of Berdyansk and Mariupol, which allows to ensure effective reception and processing of signals.

The water network of the Zaporozhye region is 400 km of the coastal strip of the Sea of ​​Azov, along which there are shifts:

  • Berdyansk municipal emergency rescue service;
  • 4 rescue posts of the Main Department (Primorsk, Kyrylivka township, Primorsky Posad village);
  • Marine Rescue Subcenter of the State Enterprise “Marine Search and Rescue Service” of the State Maritime and River Transport Service of Ukraine (Berdyansk).

The coordination of search and rescue operations on the high seas is carried out by the center of the Maritime Search and Rescue Service in Berdyansk.

The center attracts specialized search and rescue units, rescue equipment of other agencies and vessels in the Sea of ​​Azov.

The head of Zaporizhzhya rescuers congratulated the staff and management of the Center on the opening and expressed hope for joint cooperation and coordinated work in the direction of rapid response to emergencies, accidents, potentially dangerous situations at sea.
