Russia cannot prevent Ukraine from joining NATO , but is ready to do anything to “minimize” the consequences of our country’s Euro-Atlantic integration for itself.

This was announced on October 24 by the  press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, according to the Kremlin’s propaganda media.

“We cannot prevent this. And this is impossible. But we can minimize the consequences of such steps for our country. I have no doubt that if the rapprochement between Ukraine and NATO continues, everything that is necessary will be done in Russia,” Peskov said.

According to him, NATO adheres to an aggressive position towards the Russian Federation.

“NATO’s aggressive position – it has never been a secret. This is a bloc that was created against our country. And no peace-loving statements, no camouflage of this aggressive direction of NATO, they are not able to hide the true purpose of this bloc. This is an aggressive bloc that considers us an enemy “, – added the speaker of the Kremlin.

As UNIAN previously reported, after a meeting with his American counterpart Joe Biden, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he supported Ukraine’s entry into NATO .
