
Ukraine and Canada have resolved all bureaucratic issues, and at the end of 2021 in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia will begin construction of a launch complex for launching spacecraft on the Ukrainian rocket carrier “Cyclone 4M”.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister – Chairman of the Ministry of Strategy Oleg Urusky.
He said on Facebook that on Tuesday he discussed the details of the project with the president and CEO of the Canadian company Maritime Launch Services LTD Steve Mathieu, recalling that it also involves Ukrainian companies “Design Bureau” South “. Yangel ”and Production Association Southern Machine-Building Plant named after Makarova ”.
According to Urusky, Mathieu said that there are already preliminary agreements with US companies to launch their satellites with the Ukrainian Cyclone-4M launch vehicle, and the first launch is planned for the end of 2023.

In turn, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Ministry of Strategy and Industry, within its powers, is ready to assist the enterprises of the space industry of Ukraine in the implementation of this project.
Urusky also noted that the implementation of certain aspects of the Ukrainian-Canadian project “Cyclone-4M” is provided by the National Targeted Scientific and Technical Space Program of Ukraine for 2021-2025, the adoption of which is expected in the Verkhovna Rada in the near future. In particular, it is planned to create a marching engine RD-870 with a thrust of 80 tons and its further use as a marching for the first stage of the specified launch vehicle.
