The politician Alexei Navalny, who is serving a sentence in IK-2 in the Vladimir region, was removed from the register as prone to escape. This is reported on his instagram. 

According to Navalny, the special commission adopted the relevant decision unanimously. After that, the same commission voted unanimously to register Navalny as an extremist and as a terrorist. 

Navalny called the incident “good news,” since “extremist and terrorist accounting is not as tedious as a runner.” 

I thought that the phrase “Alexei Anatolyevich Navalny, born in 1976, illegally held on the territory of IK-2, detachment No. 2” I uttered on the video recorder 1669 times (so every two hours they check that you haven’t run away). And I’m terribly tired of it. And with extremism – a thrill. Nobody checks. I was afraid that they would demand that I kiss Putin’s portraits and memorize Medvedev’s quotes, but this is not necessary either.

Navalny was declared prone to escape while he was in the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center. According to the Federal Penitentiary Service, he twice publicly spoke “about his intention to escape.” Navalny called the spoken words a joke.

Navalny stated that due to his escape-prone status, he was woken up every hour at night for a check. The politician described this as “torture with insomnia.” The FSIN stated that at night the colony officers conduct only a visual examination of the presence of convicts, which does not interfere with their rest.

In June, Navalny’s structures were recognized as “extremist” organizations.
