The first part of the sports cluster – Urban Park – was opened on the territory of the Kyiv National Complex “Expocenter of Ukraine” (ENEA).

The project is implemented with the support of the President’s Office under the “Large Construction” and “Healthy Ukraine” Programs.

The opening ceremony was attended by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Head of the Office of President Andriy Yermak and his Deputy Kirill Tymoshenko, President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, famous Ukrainian athlete and Hero of Ukraine Serhiy Bubka, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov and others. .

“During 2022, 5-6 new such parks will be developed in different cities – in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Lviv, Kryvyi Rih and Kharkiv. In the future, in 2023 and 2024, other cities and towns will see such clusters, which, I think, are very much to the liking of our citizens. It is very important that children engage in physical culture and sports, “said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

It is planned to hold “jams” of street cultures, sports projects and media events at the location. Note that part of the concept of a sports cluster is barrier-free. Also among the principles of construction of the object – durability and anti-vandalism. The concept of the project was developed jointly with the specialists of the Ministry of Regional Development.

“A concrete skate park, playgrounds for football, streetball, basketball, street football, dance and parkour were built on the territory of Urban Park. Children’s inclusive locations will also be built here. I am glad that the concept, which was developed with the participation of the Ministry of Regional Development, was supported and implemented. I am sure that Urban Park will become a new favorite place in Kyiv for all its visitors – both children and adults, “said Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov.
