The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has responded to the refusal of Russians to attend the autumn session due to restrictions due to the Sputnik-V vaccine.

It is noted that official visitors to the Council of Europe complex can use all vaccines licensed by member countries, and “Satellite-V” is included in this list.
One of the Russian interlocutors in French diplomatic circles said that despite the refusal of the Russian delegation to move freely around Strasbourg, Paris and so made concessions to Russia.
The French authorities have simplified the conditions for the arrival of parliamentarians in the country to work at the autumn session. Although citizens come from the “red zone”, and they should be subject to a full range of restrictive measures.
Earlier it was reported that Russian delegates at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who were vaccinated with the “Sputnik V” vaccine, were forbidden to leave the hotel , except for a trip to the meeting. Other countries were not affected by these restrictions.
In response, the delegation of the Russian Federation refused to travel to Strasbourg to participate in the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
In March 2021, the developers of “Satellite V” submitted an application to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for approval of the vaccine in the EU, but the results of the test have not yet been received.
