The Minister noted that the UN misunderstands its mission in the world
Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba accused the United Nations of protecting the interests of individual states that violate international law by failing to participate in the Crimean Platform summit. This was announced by the Foreign Affairs Minister at a briefing.
“This organization ignored the Crimean Platform summit and was not represented at it. It happened for purely political reasons. We will talk to the organization’s leadership about the inadmissibility of such an attitude, because the key task of the UN is to maintain peace and security,” Kuleba said.
The Minister noted that the UN misunderstands its mission in the world.
“When we see the participation of organizations such as the Council of Europe, NATO, GUAM in the Crimean Platform summit, and the UN deliberately ignores this measure, it tells us about the state of affairs in the organization itself, its understanding of its role and missions in the world,” Kuleba said.
According to him, the Ukrainian side will work to change this understanding.
As it was reported earlier, the Crimean Platform was initiated as an international coordination mechanism to return the issue of Crimea to the agenda, protect human rights in Crimea and promote the deoccupation of the peninsula.
In February this year, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the establishment of an organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the founding summit of the Crimean Platform in Ukraine.
In May, EU foreign ministers agreed to consider participating in this summer’s Crimean Platform summit.
In total, the summit was attended by representatives from 44 countries and organizations.

“Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba accused the United Nations of protecting the interests of individual states that violate international law by failing to participate in the Crimean Platform summit.”
Not states, but state, and we all know which country he is referring to. This is an excerpt from Wiki, I think most on here would agree with the last part of the sentence.
“Some commentators believe the organization to be an important force for peace and human development, while others have called it ineffective, biased, or corrupt.”
It’s a club for shithole countries. There needs to be two UN’s: one for functional democracies and one for shitholes that support Russia.
An organization like the UN should not cower to threats from dictators and autocrats. What is Putler going to do, invade the UN? Their own UN resolution on Crimea voted over 100 countries in support of Ukraine but the UN picks the side with only 11 votes against Ukraine. Rubles not only make people blind but also makes them think backwards.
