The L-410 passenger plane crashed in the Irkutsk region, Interfax reports with reference to the administration of the Kazachinsko-Lensky district of the region.
A TASS source in emergency services claims that the plane flying from Irkutsk fell four kilometers from the village of Kazachinskoye and collapsed in the fall. Several people managed to get out of the salon.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that the plane with 16 people on board made a hard landing. The plane fell from a low altitude, said the interfax interlocutor in the district administration. Four people survived, one is in critical condition. Another 11 people were trapped in the cabin, it is not known what condition they are in.
The L-410 disappeared from radar when it re-landed, Interfax was told by the SiLA airline, which owns the plane.
According to preliminary data, the plane crashed due to equipment failure, according to the emergency response headquarters. A TASS source at the same time said that among the versions of the plane crash were a crew error in fog and engine failure.
