Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that Ukraine was aware of the threats to the agreements between Russian President Vladimir Putin and self-proclaimed “President” of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko , but that “everything is under control.”

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he stated this on the air of the program “Right to Power” on the TV channel “1 + 1”.

Danilov noted that the “fraternization” of Belarus and Russia has been going on for more than a year, and Lukashenko “is now beginning a new period of unification with Russia.”

“We are aware of all the challenges that exist. We understand that Putin is doing a very simple thing right now – he wants to take over Belarus … but it is clear that this is not about any fraternal relations,” he said.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council stressed that this is not a new challenge for Ukraine.

“We are well aware of the threats we face from Belarus and Russia. We are dealing with this issue not only today, but from the first day as soon as the president appointed me to office,” Danilov explained.

He stressed that “everything is under control”.
