FinExpertiza: in Russia more than 17 thousand people receive a salary of 1 million rubles per month

In Russia, about 17.1 thousand people receive an official salary of 1 million rubles or more (before taxes). Such data, writes TASS, were obtained in the course of a study conducted by the international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza.

We are talking about wage earners in medium and large enterprises. Employees with a salary of 1 million rubles or more – 0.06% of all those employed at such enterprises.

Most of the employees with seven-figure salaries are in Moscow – about 10.4 thousand people. St. Petersburg is in second place with 1.3 thousand employees who receive at least 1 million rubles a month, in third place is the Moscow Region, where 1.2 thousand people have such a salary. 

By spheres of activity, the largest number of workers with the highest salaries are in finance and insurance (about 2.9 thousand people), in the field of trade (2.6 thousand people), as well as in the field of professional, scientific and technical activities, in the manufacturing industry (2 , 4 thousand people)

When calculating the number of the highest paid workers, one-off payments were not taken into account. “One-time bonuses account for a significant part of the remuneration of overpaid top managers. – said the president of FinExpertiza Global Elena Trubnikova – Therefore, the real number of millionaire workers can be significantly higher than the declared 17 thousand people.

The average monthly nominal accrued wages in Russia, according to Rosstat , in June 2021 amounted to 58,782 rubles.
