Putin wants to introduce Taliban “into the family of civilized peoples”
The Russian leader believes that the whole world should unite efforts to legalize militants
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for the establishment of better relations with the Taliban militants who captured Afghanistan after the withdrawal of troops by the United States, Interfax reports.
Putin believes that communication with the Taliban will supposedly keep the situation in Afghanistan under control.
“Russia is not interested in the disintegration of Afghanistan. If this happens, then there will be no one to talk to. And so we need to think that the sooner the Taliban will enter, say, the family of civilized peoples, the easier it will be to contact, communicate and somehow influence, “he suggested.
But soon the President of the Russian Federation added that “everyone must unite their efforts” to legalize the militants.
At the end of August, the son of the national hero of Afghanistan, the legendary field commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, Ahmad announced the organization of resistance to the militants of the radical Taliban movement.
Meanwhile, the Taliban announced that Taliban leader Mullah Haybatullah Akhundzad will become the head of the new Afghan government.
