Turkey has adopted Akinci attack drones with Ukrainian engines
Turkey has adopted the strategic attack drones Akinci developed and manufactured by Baykar.
An official ceremony was held for the adoption with the participation of the company’s leaders, as well as the military-political leadership of Turkey, led by President Erdcep Erdogan.

The strike drone is equipped with AI-450 engines, developed by the Ukrainian enterprise SE “Ivchenko-Progress” from Zaporozhye.
They recently lifted the Akinci unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to an altitude of 11,500 meters.
A Baykar press release states that the drone was in the air for 25 hours and 46 minutes, which broke the record of Turkish aviation.
Demonstration of the prototype Akinci drone took place in 2018, as it is claimed that it will be able to fly at an altitude of 12,200 meters and carry up to 900 kg of weapons on the external suspension and up to 450 km in the inner compartments of the fuselage.
The wingspan of the Akinci UAV is 20 meters, the maximum takeoff weight is 4500 kg. Expected flight time – up to 24 hours. Akinci’s range of weapons includes guided missiles and bombs, electronic reconnaissance and combat systems.
