On Sunday, August 29, another Ukrainian fighter was wounded by militants shelling Ukrainian positions in Donbas .
This was reported by the press service of OTU “North” on Facebook.
The shelling was carried out in the area of responsibility of the operational and tactical group “North”.
“The soldier was given medical assistance, after which he was evacuated to a medical facility. The health of the wounded Ukrainian defender is assessed by doctors as serious,” the statement said.
They emphasize that Ukrainian fighters were forced to open fire in response to stop the shelling.
The shelling was reported to OSCE representatives through the Ukrainian side of the Joint Ceasefire Control and Coordination Center and the stabilization of the line of demarcation.
We will remind, for days on August 28 the Ukrainian military recorded 18 violations of the ceasefire regime by fighters in the environmental protection zone. As a result of shelling, 6 servicemen received shrapnel wounds, and another 4 received combat injuries. The wounded are in medical institutions, the health of the defenders is satisfactory.
